JOIN OUR TEAM
As a Head of Group Reporting & Accounting, you will be responsible for the external financial reporting of our publicly listed Group on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange's Prime Standard while leading our Accounting organisation. Joining a fast-growing international business with short decision-making paths, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our finance function by driving the automation and AI-enabled transformation of our accounting and reporting processes, creating a scalable platform that supports our continued growth. Beyond technical excellence, you enjoy developing people, driving change, and delivering exceptional results together with your teams, taking pride in building and empowering high-performing teams. In this highly visible role, you will work closely with the Executive Board, Audit Committee, external auditors, Technology teams, and business stakeholders, acting as a trusted partner on complex accounting matters, international expansion, and capital allocation. This is a unique opportunity that combines high ambitions and entrepreneurial freedom with genuine transformation. Rather than simply maintaining existing processes, you will challenge, simplify, and elevate them in a hands-on leadership capacity from day one. This position is permanent and based in Munich.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Lead the timely and high-quality preparation of the Group's consolidated monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements under IFRS, as well as the statutory financial statements of our German entities under HGB
- Prepare the notes to the consolidated financial statements, the combined management report, and other capital market-related financial reports
- Act as the primary contact for our external auditors and lead all year-end closing and audit processes
- Take ownership of complex accounting matters under IFRS and HGB while continuously developing and enhancing our accounting policies and processes
- Lead our Group Accounting team as well as the Team Leads across our Accounting organisation
- Develop and empower your teams, fostering an environment built on technical excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement while driving a culture where collaboration, accountability, and high performance go hand in hand
- Shape the finance function of the future by continuously improving our accounting and reporting processes
- Partner closely with our Technology teams to identify and implement AI-enabled solutions that make our processes smarter, more efficient, and highly scalable
- Challenge existing ways of working and establish best practices, standardisation, and automation across our end-to-end finance processes
- Support Westwing's international expansion by ensuring our finance organisation is built to scale
YOU COME WITH
- Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline
- Several years of experience in Group Accounting, Financial Reporting, or Audit, ideally within a publicly listed or internationally growing company
- Strong technical expertise in IFRS and German GAAP (HGB), with a passion for technical excellence and maintaining the highest quality standards
- Proven track record leading and developing high-performing teams, with an emphasis on coaching, driving change, and delivering exceptional results together
- Ability to balance immediate operational delivery with long-term organisational transformation, with direct experience leading transformation initiatives
- A strong affinity for technology and a genuine interest in applying AI and modern digital tools within finance
- Experience working with consolidation software (ideally LucaNet), ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central), and modern reporting solutions
- Highly hands-on leadership style, combining the mindset of a business owner willing to dive deep into technical accounting, closing, and process issues with a pragmatic approach
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for taking ownership, challenging the status quo, and creating better ways of working
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with fluency in both German and English
